Our goal was 650 care packages to be sent to 15 different units serving in Afghanistan, Qatar and Africa. With hundreds of hands we were producing 50 care packages every 10 minutes! We far surpassed our goal and sent out 740 packages, including trees, in less than two hours. Our community is absolutely one of a kind. We are excited to start planning for next years big 10th Anniversary event! Maybe even a new website. Keep checking back for new things going on with VT S.U.P.P.O.R.T.S. and follow us on Facebook to see new pictures and maybe get a peak at some thank you from soldiers in a few weeks!! If you have new ideas, a bigger location available and or want to get involved with fundraising please contact us anytime! Thank you for being interested in VT S.U.P.P.O.R.T.S. without you we wouldn’t be what we are!
WE DID IT! WE HIT OUR GOAL!
In two hours and five minutes we were able to pack and send out 608 care packages to 9 different units serving in combat zones in Afghanistan, Iraq, and the Horn of Africa. Along with these packages we sent out 9 artificial Christmas trees with lights and ornaments; for a GRAND TOTAL of 617 boxes! We couldn’t have done it without the help of over 120 guests, including SANTA, who were able to make it to our event at the Elks Club in St. Johnsbury.
Our hearts are overwhelmed at the support this organization continues to receive from local businesses and community members. Our reach is moving further across the state and it excites us for next year!
Now we wait. We wait for those 9 names to be announced at mail call. Some of those names receiving over 200 boxes! May our mission continue by raising the spirits of those serving, if only for a few moments, letting them know they are loved and supported by this tiny community of people with gigantic hearts in our home state of Vermont.
This year we have had the support of familiar faces and some new ones. We are so grateful for every single donation. This year we will be sending Bag Balm, Cabot Creamery, Darn Tough Socks, Maple Grove Farms Maple Candies, Cider Doughnuts from Eddie’s Bakery, and 14th Star Brewery. Plus many more surprises along with Christmas cards from our area schools.

All our money goes to purchasing gifts for the care packages and shipping ($17.35 per box). Please join is un 4 days at the Elks Club in St.Johnsbury from 9am-12pm to pack as many care packages as you can! Our goal is 600! Our 2016 event was a tremendous SUCCESS! We were able to send out 500 holiday care packages to 10 different units, along with 10 artificial trees with lights and ornaments. WOW! All of this was done in 1.5 hours! Double WOW! We couldn’t have done it without all the consistent support of local businesses and the loyal volunteers that donate and come out every year. You all wait patiently in line to pack as many boxes as you can! It is truly a humbling experience every year! We all want to thank everyone involved, but we can’t forget who we really are thanking… THANK YOU to our troops serving this Christmas in dangerous locations. You are what we celebrate in our success! We may not even know you, but we hope that we show you what you mean to all of us in this tiny state of Vermont. God bless.
